How it works

Step 1

Du benötigst ein einfaches Virtual Reality Headset (ab circa 10€). / You need a simple VR headset.

Für die beste immersive Church Experience empfehlen wir ein VR Headset mit eingebauten Surround Sound Kopfhörern.

Step 2

Lege dein Smartphone ins VR Headset ein. Öffne 360.kj-salzburg.at am Smartphone und starte unter Try it now eines der Videos. / Put your smartphone into the VR headset and go to 360.kj-salzburg.at. Select your preferred VR Church experience under Try it now.

Step 3

Wenn sich YouTube öffnet, klicke im Video rechts unten auf das Virtual Reality Icon, um in den VR-Modus zu schalten. / Once YouTube opens, click the virtual reality icon on the bottom right to switch into VR mode.

Coming soon: new features

Für VR Church 2.0 (geplanter Launch: 1. Apr 2020) sind viele neue Features geplant, darunter: personalisierbarer Kirchenraum (Gotisch, Frühbarock, Mittelbarock, Spätbarock, Neobarock, Rokoko, Beton), Ritus, einstellbare gefühlte Temperatur im Kirchenraum, einstellbare Anzahl der Besucher/innen, Durchschnittsalter der Besucher/innen.

VR Church 2.0 (planned release: 1 Apr 2020) will introduce many new and exciting features, such as: personalised church interior (gothic, early baroque, mddle baroque, late baroque, neo-baroque, rokoko, concrete), rite, adjustable apparent temparature, adjustable number of worshippers, average age of worshippers).

End user legal advice: Although the virtual reality of cyberspace cannot substitute for real interpersonal community, the incarnational reality of the sacraments and the liturgy, or the immediate and direct proclamation of the gospel, it can complement them, attract people to a fuller experience of the life of faith, and enrich the religious lives of users. [1] In den Vereinigten Staaten gibt es eine VR Church, die wöchentliche Sonntagsgottesdienste über Virtual Reality organisiert.

[2] Das Video hat die eine oder andere Inspiration von John B Crist aufgenommen. Wer die Inspirationen findet, darf sie behalten. 😉

[4] Die Erstellung der 360-Grad-Videos ist übrigens gar nicht so schwierig. Verwendet wurde dazu eine private Samsung Gear 360 (2017 Version) Kamera. Gerendert wurden die Videos auf einer Intel Core i7-Windows-Workstation und dann auf YouTube hochgeladen (wo die 360°-Funktion automatisch aktiviert wird). Die gesamte Render- & Uploadzeit lag bei circa 10 Stunden pro Video. Mehr Info gibt es bei Bengt Beier.
